Cadet Fitness Center Addition, United States Air Force Academy
This project achieved the 2012 Award of Excellence in
Electrical Construction award presented by the IEC National Convention. This
is a national award. Our competition for this award included projects from
across this fine country.
A new addition of approximately 50,000 sq-ft to the west
end of the Cadet Gym facility. This addition provides facilities for fencing,
weight training, cardio-fitness, climbing wall and lab support.

Project
Features Include:
- Electrical design and project management by Ross
Electric
- BIM model in 3D (virtual walk-thru environment).
- Electric service. Includes primary electric, utility
transformer, secondary feeders, and distribution panels.
- Energy efficient lighting system
- Lighting control with daylight harvesting, occupancy
sensors, timed control, multi-level lighting.
- HVAC and mechanical system power
- Fire alarm system and Mass Notification system
- Telephone/Data system inside plant
- Falcon Voice system, connects to base-wide
fiber-optic information network
- Sound system relocations and expansion
- LEED Gold applied for.
General contractor is The Korte Company. Work performed
for the US Army Corps of Engineers. The project was completed on schedule.
